 · 50 greatest album tracks: the hits that never were Some were too long, some too strange, others hidden on albums that nobody bought.

Love Songs: Greatest Hits contains 16 romantic songs culled from RCA Victor's traditional pop and jazz vaults. Nearly every song on this collection is wonderful, and few samplers of this kind are quite as consistently entertaining as this. Among the featured artists on the disc are Lena Horne ("I'm Confessin' That I Love You"), Louis Armstrong ("My One and Only Love"), Coleman Hawkins ("There Will Never Be Another You"), Hoagy Carmichael ("Stardust"), Ella Fitzgerald & Benny Goodman ("Goodnight My Love"), Cleo Laine ("I've Got a Crush on You"), Billie Holiday & Artie Shaw ("Any Old Time") and Frank Sinatra & Tommy Dorsey ("Night and Day," "The Song Is You").

When Rhino Records reissued the entire Monkees catalog during 1995, this and all previous Monkees compilations were deleted. The song selection was largely repeated on Rhino's own Monkees Greatest Hits collection, though not all the versions presented were the same.
